The 10 Greatest Guitar Moments in Anime   5 comments

In the course of anime history, guitar scenes have always been the underdog of cool anime scenes, much less popular than the robot fighting scene, or the sword scene, or the blood and gore scene, or even the kissing and sex scenes. So here in this post, we honor not only iconic guitar scenes that were indicative of the thematic importance of the show, but those little guitar moments that were painstakingly animated frame per frame, but never saw the light of forum threads and fan discussions boards. And so without any further ado I present to you, the top 10 guitar moments in anime.

Enemies straight out of Tokusatsu: Beetle-guy, some talking eel, ugly ass flying monster, two dudes with gas masks, a lion and a horse. And of course who could forget that depressed devil salaryman from season 1.

Hidan no Aria Episode 11 & 12 [FINAL]: In Guns We Trust   1 comment

Once again it is time for another Hidan no Aria, but this time it will probably be the last. Unfortunately, this show was only slated for 12 episodes, mere crumbs compared to the amount of source material out there. People said this show didn’t got the full 24 episodes due to bad reception, but I call shenanigans on that. Even worse shows get more episodes than this. So I think the producers just failed to grasp the true appeal of this show. Anyway, I never got the chance to talk about this show in detail in my Spring 2011 season end report, because of time and length constraints. So I’ll make sure this time, for one last time, I can tell everything in the episode as detailed as possible…. Or maybe not, because I’m too lazy with narration. Anyway, here is my review for Hidan no Aria Episodes 11 and 12, as told all in one story.

Spring Season 2011 Season-End Report   3 comments

Finally, we have reached the end of the Spring 2011 Anime Season. We had both good and bad shows, and fortunately there are more good than bad. On the other hand, it’s still sad that there were no mecha shows than ran this season, but most of the mecha shows air in the fall season anyway. There are definitely more slice-of-life, drama and comedy titles, if those weren’t already staples in anime. And there were also a couple of new shounen shows that aired. So without further ado, here’s the final report on the Spring 2011 Season I have been working for almost a week.

Hidan no Aria Episode 10: No One Show Should Have All That Plot (-wer)   Leave a comment

I finally caught up with the latest episode of Hidan no Aria, my most favorite show of the season. You know, I feel so lucky for this show to exist in my weekly anime dose. I always get excited when I write posts about this show, and I don’t even know why. Even though there have been a couple of good shows this season, nothing really makes me go crazy as much as this show does. Even though I talk smack about this show every episode, this show never fails to illicit a couple of laughs from me, or sometimes it lets me go on a state of deep critical thinking. And that’s why this is the only show I write about every episode. Well, almost, since reviews for episode 1 and episode 2 don’t exist. But you get the drift. Anyway, here’s my review for episode 10 for Hidan no Aria.
